MEMPHIS TN (March 12) - There are few race tracks in America that can boost both the tradition and atmosphere of historic Salem Speedway.  The high-banked Indiana track opened on June 22, 1947 with an appearance by the AAA Sprint Car Series.  The race was captured by Pennsylvania sprint car legend and future Motorsports Hall of Fame Member Tommy Hinnershitz in an Offenhauser powered racer.  In 1955, the ARCA Racing Series made the first of its 85 appearances at the half-mile oval with Jack Harrison capturing the 100 lap event.  Frank Kimmel of nearby Clarksville, Indiana holds the ARCA Racing Series victory record at Salem Speedway with nine wins.

Hylton Motorsports recorded its first Salem Speedway start in April 1997 at the  Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200.  Mike Buckley piloted the Enterprise Tech Services Pontiac to a ninth place finish in a race captured by Tim Steele.  Hylton Motorsports would record its next Top-Ten finish at Salem in September 2000 at the  Eddie Gilstrap Motors 200.  Damon Lusk would battle eventual winner Frank Kimmel, Tim Steele and Ken Schrader for most of the day before finishing ninth.  The team’s best finish would come in April 2005 at the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 as T.J. Bell would record a second place finish in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The Nevada native would finish a close second to winner Chad Blount with future Sprint Cup driver David Ragan in third.

Hylton Motorsports has competed in 23 events at Salem Speedway with an average finish of  19th.  The team has recorded 3,468 laps on the tough southern Indiana oval with 15 different drivers behind the wheel.  Hylton Motorsports and driver Andrew Belmont will return to Salem Speedway on April 10th to battle with ARCA's finest in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200.
