MEMPHIS
TN
(January 3)
-
In the sport of stock car
racing, their is perhaps no
other town in America that can
boast the heritage of
Spartanburg S.C. David
Pearson, Cotton Owens, Bud
Moore, and Mario Rossi head the
list of those hailing from the
South Carolina Piedmont
community. Last week James Hylton was honored
by his home county when the Spartanburg County
Council presented him with a
honorary resolution during their
weekly general session. Hylton,
a resident of Inman S.C., was
presented the resolution and
accompanying plaque
by councilman Dale Culbreath
(pictured at left with Hylton).
The resolution was for
"expressing recognition and
appreciation for the pride and
honor bestowed upon Spartanburg
County by James Hylton for his
achievements to Motorsports".
"It
was a pretty outstanding event"
stated an appreciative Hylton
"Cotton Owens, Bud Moore and
David Pearson have all been
honored by the county, so I feel
pretty honored to among such a
illustrious group."
